What we stand for
At OUTCO we pride ourselves on our quality and safety standards, this is represented in our company accreditations. We continually review our accreditations, performance and the supporting business management systems to deliver continual improvement. At OUTCO, we recognize our duty towards corporate responsibility. OUTCO’s Health and Safety management system is ISO 45001:2018, 14001:2015 and 9001:2015 certified with zero non-conformance and minors, providing the framework, policies, processes and methods to effectively manage health and safety. Our systems are externally audited by independent parties, giving you assurance that we meet our legal and statutory obligations and provide a safe working environment for stakeholders. ISO 9001:2015, 14001:2015, 45001:2018
ISO 9001 is the international standard that specifies requirements for a quality management system (QMS). Organizations use the standard to demonstrate the ability to consistently provide products and services that meet customer and regulatory requirements.
ISO 14001 is the international standard that specifies requirements for an effective environmental management system (EMS). It provides a framework that OUTCO follow, rather than establishing environmental performance requirements.
ISO 45001 a standard developed by a committee of occupational health and safety experts and follows other generic management system approaches such as ISO 14001 and ISO 9001. It was based on earlier international standards in this area such as OHSAS 18001, the International Labour Organization’s ILO-OSH Guidelines, various national standards and the ILO’s international labour standards and conventions. Compliance with 45001 enables OUTCO to demonstrate that we have a system in place for occupational health and safety.
CHAS
CHAS, or the Contractors Health and Safety Assessment Scheme as it is known in its proper form, is a significant scheme promoting the benefits of effective Health and Safety within industries and business. The purpose of CHAS certification is to assist buyers as well as suppliers in the process of health and safety competence assessment. As a CHAS certified supplier we can save a company hours of time form filling for Health and Safety purposes. It makes it easy for potential clients to gain an insight into our working standards, in terms of health and safety with consistent and continuous improvement. OUTCO has completed the Health & Safety CHAS assessment for our Statement of Practice during the Covid-19 pandemic. This confirms OUTCO has demonstrated evidence and have successfully passed the verification process, complying with the latest Government advice on working safely. This includes the introduction of the OUTCO Covid-19 Project Risk Assessment we implemented at the beginning of the pandemic and evidence of our communication to our complete workforce of these procedures and completed Risk Assessment.
SafeContractor
SafeContractor accreditation was achieved following an assessment of OUTCO’s health & safety documentation, and compared against the SafeContractor Charter Standards, which set out the health & safety standards required to achieve accreditation.
ConstructionLine
ConstructionLine is a Government-run scheme, which collects, assesses and monitors our standard company information. It is the largest pre-qualification database in the UK and a leading procurement and supply chain management service. ConstructionLine members are instantly recognized as aligned with government and industry standards throughout the business, making OUTCO a more viable choice against those that do not hold an accreditation.
British Safety Council
As the largest corporate health and safety membership organisation the British Safety Council work alongside members to achieve the vision that no-one should be injured or made ill at work. Thousands of businesses ranging from small independent start-ups to large multinational organisations have put their trust in the British Safety Council for over 60 years. Members are invited to work together to help drive best practice and influence health and safety policy through our sector interest groups as we continue to strive for excellence in workplace health, safety and wellbeing. Members are supported by introducing them to training, audit and awards schemes.
Continuing Professional Development
CPD stands for Continuing Professional Development (CPD) and is the term used to describe the learning activities professionals engage in to develop and enhance their abilities. Our training presentations are certified by the CPD Certification Service as conforming to continuing professional development principles. OUTCO is also an accredited member of BALI (British Association Landscaping Industries) & IWFM (Institute of Workplace and Facilities Management, formerly BIFM)
Acclaim Accreditation
Launched in 2012, Acclaim Accreditation is the health and safety accreditation service provided by Supplier Assessment Services. Carrying out an online assessment of OUTCO’s health and safety documentation and work activities as an independent competent assurance of the systems we have in place. As an SSIP members scheme, Acclaim Accreditation supports the objectives of SSIP (Safety Schemes In Procurement) to improve health and safety standards across the UK and reduce duplication of paperwork in procurement.
RISQS
GB rail’s supplier assurance scheme RISQS is run by the industry, for the industry, under the stewardship of RSSB. RSSB’s Railway Industry Supplier Qualification Scheme features a smarter, quicker, easier platform and enhanced audit services, providing the industry with supplier assurance fit for the future. RISQS remains central to the safe and cost-effective procurement of railway products and services, providing assurance for 110-plus buyers including Network Rail and TfL to do business with confidence with over 4,300 suppliers.
NHSS Sector 16
National Highways Sector Schemes (NHSS) are bespoke quality management systems for organisations working on the UK road network. They are based on the ISO9001:2008 standards, but do not duplicate them. OUTCO are accredited to the NHSS 16: For the Laying of Asphalt Mixes.
Avetta
Avetta qualify supply chain partners in every major industry worldwide, making contractor prequalification manageable and pain-free.
CSCS
CSCS is the leading skills certification scheme within the UK construction industry. CSCS cards provide proof that individuals working on construction sites on behalf of OUTCO have the required training and qualifications for the type of work they carry out.
Doncaster Chamber Member
Doncaster Chamber of Commerce and Enterprise is a membership organisation representing the Doncaster business community, and is accredited by the British Chambers of Commerce.
British Association of Landscape Industries
British Association of Landscape Industries members carry out their duties to the very highest industry standards. To be a member is to provide professional excellence at all times. To be granted Accredited membership status, Association members sign up to our Code of Conduct, pledging to carry out their business to the very highest industry standards. This means investing in staff training and skills development, adhering to health and safety regulations, considering the environmental and ethical implications of what they do and running their operations with honesty and integrity. Achilles
Achilles works to help suppliers meet their customers’ needs, adhere to compliance standards and strengthen their relationships. Achilles collect and validate data-driven insight to build more secure, sustainable, better performing supply chains.
Altius
Altius uses experience, resources and systems to make your supply chain safer, more reliable and more competitive while at all times operating with honesty, transparency and integrity. The Altius Accreditation scheme gives suppliers the platform needed to demonstrate assurance to new, existing and prospective clients.
LANTRA Approved Training
OUTCO goes the extra mile to ensure professional standards, by investing in professionally certified operatives. OUTCO runs a nationally recognised academy with two levels of winter services training recognised as the only LANTRA approved training in the industry for winter risk management services. All winter services operatives undergo this training which not only primarily increases the quality of the jobs completed on your behalf, but also increases the speed and efficiency of operations.
Each operative is subsequently set against yearly assessments with your target SLAs set as their minimum target which are required to be exceed as our in-house annual assessment. All winter services operatives receive pre-contract induction and on-going training on working safely, in accordance with our OUTCO winter operative manual, including risk assessments and method statements (RAMS), and are not allowed to work on sites until their line manager has confirmed that they have passed the gritting training exams. The OUTCO Academy not only includes such aspects as gritting techniques and the application of specialist gritting materials, but also advanced driving skills.
